Perception. Pride. Impact.
This is more than a story.

The West Midlands has a story problem.

A lack of awareness of our economic and cultural strengths, have damaged our regional pride, tourism offering, and drive the negative national perceptions that hold us back.

We believe that the region has untapped potential, and through capturing and telling our stories, we can reframe perceptions of the WM, bring together our various authorities, bridge community cohesion, support policy-making, and attract the investment in our culture and business that we deserve.

This isn’t just storytelling.

It is how we bridge communities, gather insights that drive policy-making,
and build the local confidence and pride we need, to fulfil the potential of our cultural and economic growth.

Our Process

Built from experience of documentary storytelling and place-based marketing, our process creates a cycle of trust and positive impact, to build upon the stories, data, and insights which we capture.

  • Capture stories and insights.

  • Pushing out our stories online and in physical spaces, reframing how locals and non-locals view our region and places.

  • Qualitative and quantitative data provide insights from locals across all sectors and sized organisations. Creating a more democratic route to change, and useful insights to support investment and policy-making.

  • Bringing together business, locals, and policy-makers through a mix of public events and smaller workshops, we will provide the reframing, insights, and stories, to build positive change in this region.

Locals who feel heard and can feel pride in their local stories.

To decision-makers gaining human-led insights to unearth cultural and economic opportunities.

  • We will repurpose our imagery, to ‘paint’ our places with stories - and for the first time, celebrating the achievement and strengths of all areas of the West Midlands.
